意味・用法

1. 1.～を除いて前A2 Elementary

   • Everyone came to the party except John.

     ジョンを除いて、皆パーティーに来た。

   • I like all fruits except bananas.

     バナナを除いて、私は全ての果物が好きだ。

   • The shop is open every day except Sunday.

     日曜を除いて、その店は毎日開いている。

2. 2.～以外はすべて接B1 Intermediate

   • Everyone except John came to the party.

     ジョン以外は皆パーティーに来た。

   • All the shops were closed except for the bakery.

     パン屋以外はすべての店が閉まっていた。

   • We finished the project except for the final report.

     最終報告書以外は、私たちはプロジェクトを終えた。

3. 3.～でない限り接B1 Intermediate

   • You can go out, except you must be back by midnight.

     外出してもよいが、真夜中までには戻らなければならない。

   • I'll help you, except I can't do it for you.

     手伝うよ、ただし君の代わりにそれをすることはできない。

   • Everyone is invited, except for those who are busy.

     忙しい人たちを除いて、皆招待されています。
