意味・用法

1. 1.～より（も）接A1 Beginner

   • This book is better than that one.

     この本はあの本より良い。

   • He is taller than his brother.

     彼は兄（弟）より背が高い。

   • Apples are healthier than candy.

     リンゴはキャンディーより健康的だ。

2. 2.～（というほど）の接B1 Intermediate

   • This book is more interesting than I expected.

     この本は思ったよりも面白い。

   • He is taller than his brother.

     彼は兄（弟）よりも背が高い。

   • The weather today is better than yesterday.

     今日の天気は昨日よりも良い。

3. 3.～でなければ接B1 Intermediate

   • It's better to try than to do nothing.

     何もしないよりは試した方が良い。

   • He is kinder than I expected.

     彼は私が期待していたよりも親切だ。

   • This book is more interesting than that one.

     この本はあの本よりも面白い。

4. 4.～（で）ない限り接B1 Intermediate

   • You won't pass the exam than you study hard.

     一生懸命勉強しない限り、試験には合格しないだろう。

   • He won't go out than the rain stops.

     雨が止まない限り、彼は外出しないだろう。

   • We can't finish this project than we work overtime.

     残業しない限り、このプロジェクトを終わらせることはできない。
